Aaron Matzkin - President
Aaron Matzkin has worked in contract management for over 12 years, in the aerospace/defense private sector in California and Oregon, and currently in the Federal Government in Washington, DC. Aaron participated in the FBI Citizens Academy in Portland, Oregon in 2016, shortly before relocating to Maryland. In 2017, Aaron served on the Strategic Marketing and Communications Committee for the former FBI WFO Citizens Academy Alumni Association. Aaron is honored to serve as the Chapter President of our newly formed Washington DC chapter!
Steve Braun - Vice President
Steve Braun is currently a “data dude” in the healthcare industry at Mary Washington Health Alliance. Steve provides solutions for leaders to make decisions by leveraging extensive leadership experience in Operations, Process Improvements, Risk Analysis, Data Analysis, Sales, Marketing, Product and Program Management. Steve has a proven ability to streamline processes and increase productivity by building or strengthening fun and successful teams at AT&T, Capital One, Kohl’s Credit Division, and now Mary Washington Hospital. Steve graduated from the FBI Citizen Academy...twice! (at WFO and Milwaukee). Steve’s passions in life are his wife, two hilarious cats, Green Bay Packers, and the US Women’s National Soccer Team.
Rachel Stagner - Secretary
Rachel Stagner has been a high school science teacher for over 10 years. Several years ago, she developed a Forensic Science class to help engage students in science while also focusing on law enforcement issues in the community. She attended the FBI Citizen's Academy in Portland, Oregon in 2012 and continued to maintain a close relationship with the Portland Office to coordinate field trips, guest speakers, and participation in Oregon's FBI youth academy experience for her students. In 2018, Rachel moved to the District and is excited to continue her participation in the FBI Citizen's Academy Alumni Association in a new community. In her spare time, Rachel likes to read, spend time outside, and volunteer at the International Spy Museum.

Karen Roberts has over 20 years of senior management experience in government and business where she has advised organizations on strategy, development, marketing, government relations and public affairs. She has been a small business owner and has served on a number of non-profit boards including The Twig of Alexandria Hospital and the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. Karen attended the 2018 FBI Citizens Academy in Washington, DC and is excited to serve on the FBI CAAA DC board!
